Industry Hurricane Relief Updates

A resource for industry businesses looking for information and ways to help

Our thoughts and prayers are with the thousands of people displaced and impacted by the flooding in the Texas Gulf Coast and now Florida and the Southeastern U.S.  The devastation is vast and families and communities will be disrupted for many months.

At AmericanHort, we are working with the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (TNLA), Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA), and other industry partners to identify Green Industry businesses impacted by the flooding.  In the coming weeks, as the extent of the damage is assessed, we hope to identify specific ways we can work together to support the people and the businesses as they recover and rebuild.

To find out the latest state information and initial resources being requested, please visit the Hurricane Assistance sections at the following websites. You'll also be able to offer your assistance directly there.

To make donations to general relief efforts...

We urge all AmericanHort members and industry partners to consider making a financial donation to a recognized relief organization with resources on the ground in Florida and the Gulf Coast.

Three organizations to consider are:

The American Red Cross accepting donations on its website. You can also text HARVEY to 90999 to donate $10.

The United Way of Greater Houston flood relief fund will be used to help with immediate needs as well as long-term services like minor home repair. Visit their website to donate or text UWFLOOD to 41444.

Donations to the Salvation Army can be made online, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) or texting STORM to 51555.

Updates from around the industry

Several industry organizations are continuing to report back on situations in both Florida and Texas. We will update this list as information rolls in. Please send any updates or news to
