Chairman Boozman’s priorities include advancing a new Farm Bill, strengthening the agricultural safety net, reducing regulatory burdens, and modernizing farm loan and risk management programs. During the session, Karl will provide insights on the status of the Farm Bill, implications of the recent government shutdown, agriculture research initiatives, rural development efforts, workforce and labor issues, and other priorities currently before the Senate Agriculture Committee.

Senate Agriculture Committee – Chairman John Boozman (R-AR)

Karl Anderson serves as Senior Professional Staff for the Senate Agriculture Committee. Most recently, he served as the president of the Supporters of Agricultural Research (SoAR) Foundation.

Prior to SoAR, he spent a decade as the director of government relations for the American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America, and the Soil Science Society of America, where he led federal policy initiatives focused on agricultural innovation.

Karl also spent time at the National Association of Conservation Districts as director of legislative affairs and served in the George W. Bush administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He got his start on Capitol Hill working for Rep. Mike Simpson and Rep. George R. Nethercutt, Jr.
