AmericanHort Urges Congress to Protect Equipment Choice
AmericanHort joined a broad coalition representing agriculture, manufacturing, energy, transportation, and other industries in urging congressional leaders to overturn six California emissions rules under the Congressional Review Act. The rules affect vehicles, small off-road engines, commercial harbor craft, and ocean-going vessels and could restrict or prohibit the use of internal combustion engines. For horticulture businesses, California’s Small Off-Road Engine amendments are particularly concerning because they could limit access to essential gas-powered landscape and outdoor power equipment. The letter calls on Congress to protect consumer choice and pursue practical policies that support cleaner technologies while maintaining affordability, reliability, and U.S. economic competitiveness.
