Agriculture Groups Urge Congress to Strengthen USDA Field Office Staffing
A coalition of food and agriculture organizations sent a letter asking Congress to provide adequate funding for USDA’s NRCS and FSA staffing and prevent local office closures and consolidations. Significant staffing losses have reduced farmers, ranchers, and growers’ access to conservation, disaster, loan, and farm safety net programs at a time when agriculture stakeholders are facing economic pressures, weather challenges, and increased demand for USDA services.
