AmericanHort Supports USDA Rule Expanding Access to Federal Crop Insurance
AmericanHort submitted comments to the Federal Register praising the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation for modernizing federal crop insurance and expanding access for specialty crop producers through the Expanding Access to Risk Protection rule. While the rule does not yet cover ornamental horticulture crops, AmericanHort emphasized it is a positive step forward and called for continued collaboration with Secretary Brooke Rollins to develop pilot programs and tailored risk-management tools for nursery, greenhouse, and floriculture growers.
