As part of the Agriculture Workforce Coalition, we have joined over 100 agricultural entities in sending a letter to Congressional leadership to include language in the FY2025 Labor, Health, and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Appropriations bill to apply the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia injunction on the Department of Labor (DOL) final rule governing the H-2A temporary agricultural worker program to all 50 states. DOL has now modified the Foreign Labor Application Gateway (FLAG) system into a two-part process. DOL will process applications in states where implementation of the rule has been prohibited and those where they will proceed with the rule. AmericanHort is diligently working with other associations and key H-2A stakeholders to explore avenues to expand the exemptions to additional states and growers.
