AmericanHort Signs Letter Requesting Relief for H-2B

The H-2B Workforce Coalition is urging Congress to include substantial relief from the H-2B visa cap in the Fiscal 2025 Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill. Without such action, many employers will face a critical shortage of necessary workers in
the upcoming year, potentially leading to contract fulfillment issues, customer turnaways, layoffs of American workers supported by H-2B workers, and even business closures. The current cap of 66,000 visas, set by Congress, is not just insufficient, but grossly inadequate to meet the seasonal workforce demands of small businesses, especially in a robust economy with low unemployment rates. While supplemental visas have been authorized by Congress and issued by the Department of Homeland Security, they have not provided sufficient and predictable relief tied to the current economic demand.
