AmericanHort Supports Effort to Expand Small Business Tax Deduction

AmericanHort joined over 100 national trade associations in a letter to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-ID), urging support for permanently extending and expanding the Section 199A tax deduction for pass-through businesses. The coalition called for increasing the deduction from 20% to 23% to maintain tax parity between small businesses and large corporations, especially in light of proposed changes that would limit the deduction of state and local taxes. Section 199A has been a critical tool for Main Street businesses, including those in horticulture, helping them reinvest, create jobs, and remain competitive. We support ensuring the final tax package is pro-growth and does not raise taxes on small businesses across the country.
