H-2B Workforce Coalition Urges Timely Release of Supplemental Visas to Support Seasonal Businesses

AmericanHort, along with the H-2B Workforce Coalition, sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Labor (DOL) Secretaries Kristi Noem (DHS) and Lori Chavez-DeRemer (DOL) urging the continued release of supplemental H-2B visas to address critical labor shortages for spring and summer businesses. With demand far exceeding the statutory cap of 66,000 visas, DHS and DOL have exercised their congressional authority to release 64,716 additional visas for FY25, allocated for returning workers and workers from select countries. These supplemental visas are vital for businesses to meet contractual obligations, sustain operations, and support full-time American jobs. The coalition appreciates ongoing bipartisan support and emphasizes the need for timely visa issuance to ensure economic stability for seasonal industries.
