Organizations Pen Letter to President Biden over Port Labor Negotiations
AmericanHort joined over 150 organizations representing stakeholders across the supply chain in urging the administration to intervene in labor negotiations between the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance. The current contract, covering East and Gulf Coast ports, is due to expire on September 30, 2024. Negotiations stalled when the ILA refused to return to the table, citing a local issue, and threatened a coastwide strike if no new deal is reached in time.
