Over 100 Lawmakers Back H-2A Wage Freeze in FY2026 Appropriations Push

More than 100 bipartisan members of the U.S. House of Representatives have signed a letter supporting House Appropriations leaders to include a two-year freeze on the Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) in the FY2026 federal budget. This effort, aimed at stabilizing costs for agricultural employers using the H-2A visa program, highlights the growing financial strain from escalating wage rates. The AmericanHort advocacy team, along with support from our members, played a key role in building support for this important provision. We look forward to seeing this language included in the final appropriations bill.
