More than 260 farm groups, including AmericanHort, are encouraging Congress to pass a comprehensive Farm Bill that fully supports specialty crops and rural communities. While recent budget legislation offered some stability, growers stressed that it cannot replace vital Farm Bill programs such as conservation, research, loan limits, and rural broadband. House Ag Chair GT Thompson (R-PA-15) acknowledged Congress will need an extension by Sept. 30 while also seeking up to $8 billion in funding for “Farm Bill 2.0.”
