AmericanHort Webinar Square 250x250

Workplace Safety in Horticulture

Format: Recorded webinar + live interactive polls and reflection
Building a strong culture of safety takes more than policies and annual training; it takes awareness, conversation, and shared responsibility across the entire team.
This interactive kickoff program launches the new AmericanHort safety video series with a practical look at what it means to maintain a safe workplace in horticultural operations.
In this session, we’ll explore practical, research-based frameworks for employee engagement, identify how engagement (and disengagement) shows up on the job, and discuss ways to leverage generational diversity to engage team members across age groups in meaningful, effective ways.

Key topics include:

  • Supervisor responsibilities
  • Effective employee training
  • Hazard recognition
  • Identifying and learning from near misses
Throughout the program, participants will be invited to engage through polls and guided reflection moments, creating opportunities to think about their own operations and learn from the experiences of others across the industry.
This shared learning approach is designed to move beyond “check-the-box” training and support meaningful conversations about how safety shows up in day-to-day work.

What comes next:

  • This kickoff sets the foundation for a series of short, on-demand safety micro-trainings
  • Content will feature insights from industry partners and leaders
  • Resources are designed to support practical first steps, or next steps, in building a strong culture of safety.
All content is intended to support learning and discussion and should be used alongside applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.
