AmericanHort Joins Ag Coalition in Urging House to Pass the Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act
On September 9, AmericanHort joined members of the Agriculture Workforce Coalition in a letter urging House leadership and the House Judiciary Committee to swiftly pass H.R. 9535, the Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act. The letter follows an August 26 federal court ruling that invalidated the Department of Labor’s H-2A wage rule, leaving growers with no clarity on how wages will be set and the possibility of back-wage liability. SAWA would provide the first meaningful H-2A reform in 40 years and give farmers the certainty they need to plan their operations year to year.
