AmericanHort joined 10 associations in expressing support of the confirmation of Lori Chavez-DeRemer to be the Secretary of Labor.
Chavez-DeRemer brings a strong knowledge of the H-2A and H-2B guest-worker programs and her contributions to agricultural labor reform, including streamlining application processes and addressing wage concerns. Her experience in Congress, particularly her engagement with Oregon’s forestry industry, demonstrates her understanding of workforce shortages and the need to resolve systemic processing delays in the H-2B program. AmericanHort looks forward to working with Chavez-DeRemer at the Department of Labor.
